Chicago police say a man who was charged with felony child endangerment after his six-year-old son accidentally shot and killed his three-year-old brother told investigators that he got the gun illegally from a gang member. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says Michael Santiago told investigators that he was a former gang member and felt he needed the gun to protect his family. The shooting occurred Saturday night. Guglielmi says the older boy and his younger brother wanted to play 'cops and robbers' when one of them retrieved the loaded handgun from atop the refrigerator. The older boy shot his younger brother in the face. Family members took the younger boy, identified by the medical examiner as Eian Santiago, to Norwegian American Hospital. He was later transported in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died later on. A man and his girlfriend reportedly refused to surrender to police as a SWAT team surrounded their house because they wanted to have sex "one last time". Ryan Patrick Bautista and Leanne Hunn, both 34, refused to leave their mobile home as they made love during a night-long stand-off with cops in Florida on Wednesday, the Times-Union reported. Hunn allegedly told police over the phone that she would turn herself in once she had had s3x with Bautista for the final time. The couple were finally arrested at 4am on Thursday morning after police arrived at the scene at 9.30pm the night before. Bautista was wanted for armed burglary. He and Hunn were reportedly charged with resisting arrest without violence and false imprisonment.

A company director who is terminally ill has announced on LinkedIn the date he will die at a clinic in Switzerland and details for his funeral. Simon Binner, 57, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in January, updated his profile on the professional networking site to announce he would die this coming Monday. The minor girls, aged two-and-half years and the other five, were raped in separate attacks in New Delhi yesterday,October 17, police said. According to Hindustan Times, the 5-year-old was allegedly assaulted by two men known to her family. The men, who were drunk at the time, were nabbed by people and handed over to police. No arrests have been made in connection with the other rape. The two-and-half-year-old girl was allegedly abducted from near a ‘Ramlila’ event outside her home at Ranhola in West Delhi by two men on a motorcycle. She was gang-raped and dumped in the area with severe injuries. The girl had stepped out of her home with her grandmother after a power cut late on Friday night, police said. She was playing while her grandmother sat nearby. The girl reportedly ran towards the main road and witnesses told police two men on a motorcycle had taken her away at about 11 pm. Akpabio was taken into custody for interrogation by EFCC operatives at about 5.20 pm. He was accompanied by a few of his aides and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria Ricky Tarfa. Findings show that the present governor of Akwa Ibom state, Udom Emmanuel laundered colossal amount of money for Akpabio and that was why he was rewarded with the governor’s seat. According to sources within EFCC, Akpabio left the EFCC headquarters at about 9.pm on Friday after responding to questions by the anti-graft agency’s top officials.

Two residents, Bashirat Rauf, a mother of two and Sodiq Saka of Araromi Quarters in Ketu, Lagos State, were both electrocuted when fire engulfed a school nearby. Bashirat Rauf was said to have rushed out of her apartment when she saw fire burning from a cable in a nearby school. She reportedly decided to quickly pick her children who were playing outside in order to avoid being engulfed by the fire unfortunately, she got electrocuted in the process. A 53-year-old man, Bravok Indi, yesterday at Jenta Mangoro in Jos, stabbed and killed his 75-year-old mother, Wallong Indi, for advising him to retrace his bad ways. A family source, who craved anonymity, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), that Bravok, a former cleaner in a bank and father of four, had allegedly been on drugs, a situation the source claimed led to a separation with his wife some years ago. He was also said to have been fond of threatening neighbours with “harmful” objects, and had been unable to meet his responsibilities as a father to the four children. Worried by the situation, the mother, on Oct. 15, entered his room to advise him to discard drugs and begin a new life. The mother’s counsel was said to have angered Bravok, who in a fit of anger, stabbed her to death. NAN learnt that youths of the area, on learning of the attack, descended on Bravok and beat him to stupor before he was rescued by the police, who rushed him to the Plateau Specialist hospital.
